Congrats on getting out there and finding a new job. I hope it’s just what you need and you find new friends there. You ABSOLUTELY can do it!!! They are lucky to have you. I’m currently living in student housing for the next ten months while doing my Fulbright and I will be without an oven for the whole time…so, no baking. I have two stove top burners. It is what it is. I didn’t imagine myself living in student housing at this point in my life so I hear you about living with your Mum. All is temporary and you will definitely find your way! Sending love and comfort! And hugs! xxxxxxxxxx❤️❤️

Thanks again Stephi, anything is better than nothing. Sad to hear of the passing your Queen mum. She sounds like she gave her best to the people. Like yourself you give us your best always. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone to help us be better bakers, and people in general. Let your light shine as a beacon to guide us. matt

Stephi, sounds like your headed in the right direction as you bake, cook, learn, heal. A new endeavor ahead in your life, all the while letting courage lead you. Your not as limited as you tell us, maybe hindered yes like the rest of us in this recipe called life. Your small but carry loads and fight battles that encourage us weekly. Thanks for being a true friend to us all...

Good morning Steph

Greetings from Canada again. Yup, feeling that profound feeling of loss. I’m reminded of the line- grief is just love with no place to go. Can you not hear her voice saying something about keeping our chins up and carrying on? I found myself outside scrubbing the walls of my house to keep busy.

Steph, I’m a believer that things happen for a reason exactly when they were meant to happen. Be brave! Jump into this new job! Bring your amazing self to it! Maybe take a new box of crayons in your bag. There’s something wonderful about the smell of one right?

Have a wonderful week my dear!

I’ll get on the shortbread, my favourite!

Dearest Steph,

Omgoodness I'm sooooo happy for you! Biggest congrats on your new job! It sounds so exciting - art technician!! Yessss absolutely when September rolls around I start thinking "School!" and there's a lovely, nostalgic, comforting aspect in it. I hope you have an amazing week. Goodness you got your CV and personal statement done too, you're just amazing. Major major kudos to you for this huge accomplishment! I can envision the Queen proudly shaking your hand like she did for the new PM. Putting yourself out there in the world, getting a job - hardly privileged and pitiful!! It takes so much hard work and courage, and faith! Your efforts should not be taken for granted. You did it bearing your cross, and snagged a good one!

I miss the Queen. She leaves behind a fine legacy of strong-spirited, courageous people - like you. I'm so in awe!

Thanks for your amazing shortbread recipe. I have a one too that over the years has become more and more complex. Your recipe helps dust off the accumulated faff. And this is the first time I've heard of a "Tiffin." It looks so good I can't wait to try it. If the Queen liked it it's definitely a must.

Your book arrived in the mail and I'm savoring it now. Every word. It's like a salve. Thank you.

Have a wonderful blessed week!!!!

Congratulations on your new job!! This is fantastic news and yes you will be nervous - but it would be weird if you weren’t. Anything outside your comfort zone will feel like that. I had a lot of anxiety around going back to work after a break to have my kids - I found the book ‘Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway’ by Susan Jeffers so helpful. Whatever happens, you can handle it.

We will totally be making the tiffin!!!! X

I was really excited to see your newsletter in my inbox this morning. Congratulations on your new job! The worst case scenario is that you get some new life experiences and stories. The best case scenario is you work at a job you love. Good luck!
