Homemade Oreo biscuits – aka this week’s emergency Biscuits
Just as my stress levels peaked on Friday, I decided I *needed* to bake some biscuits… specifically Oreo biscuits.
I’ve been a fan of Oreo’s since I watched Parent trap for the first time as a kid, initially I had to teach myself to like them (I’ve had to do this with quite few foods, but I’m up to the challenge!) but once I’d done sufficient practice, I was hooked. Obviously I had to consume them with peanut butter, because that’s how Hallie and Annie ate them, and yes, I also painted my finger nails a hideous electric blue colour (I didn’t quite go as far as to pierce my ears with a skewer but I was tempted!)… if you don’t have a clue what I’m on about, go and watch the film - the one with Lindsey Lohan - now!
Anyway, I suddenly had a *need* to recreate them- possibly to soothe my stressed state. So that I did… ok, so these are a bit different (they’re… errr, WAY better - bold statement I know)… the biscuit element is more tender and chocolate RICH, and the vanilla filling is fluffy, whipped and warm with vanilla. They really are fantastic and are a doddle to make, they also satisfied my craving which was all I could ask for - twist, dip or drizzle with PB, and consume - it really is a heavenly mouthful!
